Children's Ministry
"Let the little children come to me ... for the kingdom of God
belongs to such as these." -- Mark 10:14
Infants and Toddlers
Our volunteer teachers are committed Christian individuals who go through an annual training program to learn new techniques to help our children experience their journey into the Christian faith. School Sunday (Age 3 through 1st grade) 9:45am: Children meet in the Choir Room for a quick music program with our own Nancy Gentry and Virginia Clark. 10:00am: The children are escorted to the Sunday School room for an age-appropriate lesson. Primary activities include: Children's Church, Vacation Bible School, Seasonal Activities, Annual Confirmation Classes, Team Sports, Palm Sunday Participation, and Worship Service Participation. Elementary (Grades 2-5) 9:45am: Our elementary age children meet in the designated room for an age-appropriate lesson. Elementary activities include: Children's Choir, Lakeshore Summer Camp, Acolytes, Vacation Bible School, Seasonal Activities, Annual Confirmation Classes, Team Sports, Palm Sunday Participation, and Worship Service Participation. Children's Church (Age 3 through 1st grade) Children attend the 11am worship service with their family. During the Hymn of Response, the children are invited to collect the prayer requests and come to the front of the sanctuary for a children's sermon, led by the preacher. The children's sermon is tied to the children's lesson each Sunday, to provide the entire family with a consistent worship experience. After the children's sermon, the children are escorted to children's church where they may listen to age appropriate worship music, learn a lesson and participate in a craft. |
